What is a 'Walking Closet'? A lady has sent a query on this to Bricksnmortar Edesk!

Mary A. Stewart asked us through our twitter handle #bricksnmortar : "What is a walking closet"?

At the first instance, we were also not sure what she was talking about. "Walking Closet"? Could this be a pseudonym to any particular kind of closet, or was it something altogether newer thing?

We asked the lady one more time through her twitter handle to confirm whether she really meant to know about 'Walking Closet'? "Yes", she said. One of her architect friends had suggested this to her during her last visit to her house when she had told the architect the problem of shortage of storage space she had in her newly built house.

Not knowing what to inform her about, we thought why not ask our readers to assist us in apprehending what this lady could mean.

WILL YOU HELP US and suggest what could she mean?

Anyhow, let BricksnMortar Edesk try answering about the 'Walking Closets' in the follow up post :-)

  1. what she means is a walk in closet or popularly known as "walk in wardrobe".
It is a seperate room for storing all our robes.

  2. Absolutely right. We got a couple of responses to this post (1 in comments sections here; 3 by feedburner response, and 5 by email replies). All but one gave the right answer. The lady actually had meant a 'WALK-IN CLOSET' which is essentially a wardrobe internally connected to a room, and which is big enough to house the wardrobes and the user can go in and use the storage (and sometimes dress there also, as the area combines as a dresser too most of the times)
