Tackling and Living with Systemic Govermental/Authoritative Deficiencies in Urban Development Sector

Since the time we started this blog in the year 2008, we have continuously and consistently received readers' inputs; suggestions; queries; complaints; qualms; write-ups conveying utter frustration; and related forms of feedback relating to the inherent systemic deficiencies they have underwent at the hands of governmental, bureaucratic, authoritative and similar departments of the domain that directly or indirectly relate to maintenance of law & order and general civic planning, development & upkeep.

Be it the local municipal corporation, or town planning office, or the urban development authorities, or the village level patwari (land details accountant) system, or whichsoever other similar office -- every such place is to a certain extent stagnating and rotting with symptoms ranging across wide spectrum of red-tapism, corruption, nepotism, lethargy, etc. etc. etc.

And yes, based on the inferences drawn from all such feedback, it can certainly be deduced that the police system is also hand-in-glove in deteriorating the condition of waning confidence of the ordinary junta who say they have no more options than to unwillingly grease the hands of babus (public servants and office bearers).

The situation and circumstances though are not simpler and moving in one-way traffic though. There are instances and evidences galore that there exists a relatively large majority of ordinary junta too who at times convenient to them and to their needs/ desires, want to bend the rules by hook or crook, and even by greasing the hands of the office bearers. The rot continues to grow exponentially and the emphasis of the authorities and personnel representing them keep continually shifting from the right towards the wrong.

So, is there no practical solution to reverse this ever-increasing pollution of nobler minds and nobler ethics? Can we not try to better our systems and put a break on such falling of ethics and principles, though of softer intensity than what could be required for effective self cleansing?

Think about it.
Say it aloud.
And share your opinions with us.
Lets try to find a relatively common ground to evolve a better society and public ethics.

TOGETHER WE SHALL TRY BRINGING ABOUT THE FRESH BREEZE OF CHANGE

  1. Nice, inspirational post. You are right in saying that sometimes the common people are themselves to blame for not standing tall to their rightful deeds and requirements from the authorities. Hopefully things will change for good slowly. Keep it going
